KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma's two-time national champion Shawn Streck was named MIAA Most Dominant Wrestler, the league announced Thursday.
Streck, who went 19-1 this season, earned All-American honors for a third consecutive season and won the NCAA Division II national championship at heavyweight for the second year in a row.
This season, the Merrillville, Indiana native totaled 11 technical falls in 19 victories, tying a single season school record. His only loss of the past two seasons came in the regional championship, when his 41-match win streak was snapped. He followed that up with four straight wins to earn the title of back-to-back national champion.
Streck led Central Oklahoma to its 17th national title in school history. The Bronchos have won nine in Division II, more than any other school in history.
